About the Artist

Aanii! Hello and welcome to AnishinaaBeads.

My name is Ashley Abbott, and I am a proud Anishinaabe artist and member of Pays Plat First Nation. Through beadwork, artwork, ribbon skirts, and thoughtfully crafted collections, I create pieces inspired by creativity, culture, and storytelling.

Growing up, I always felt a strong desire to learn more about my heritage and deepen my connection to my culture. Creating became a meaningful way to honor that journey. Today, my work is inspired by my Ojibwe roots, blending traditional influences with my own artistic style to create pieces that are both meaningful and contemporary.

Every creation begins with intention and a deep appreciation for the artistry, teachings, and traditions that continue to inspire me. Whether through beadwork, wearable art, or original artwork, my hope is to create pieces that foster connection, spark conversation, and celebrate Indigenous creativity.
